Autodesk
Autodesk Alias team requested our assistance in supporting their design team to move towards an experimentation mindset.
The mission was to enable the Autodesk Alias design team to learn lessons, innovate faster, and have quick access to valuable data.

In more detail, their everyday challenges consisted of long feedback loops between multiple teams, a large volume of documentation, inconsistent and scattered material, along with undefined ways of working.

In order to frame the challenge we started by asking a few questions:
QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED:
-
What is an experiment in Alias?
-
How does Alias prototype today?
-
How should Alias prototype?
DELIVERABLES:
-
New ways of working: Journey Map
-
File sharing methods and a clear, universal system
The process

STARTING WITH RESEARCH
The first task was to understand the team's needs and use those findings into creating valuable insights for designing a new process.
Face-to-face interviews were conducted, together with a walk-through of their daily tasks and a demonstration of tools being used.

The delivery

NEW WAYS OF WORKING
After gathering all the insights, we defined a high-level process of the new ways of working for the team, having all the stakeholders in mind for communication, sign-off, and implementation.

Journey map
Taking a closer look at the specific steps and activities in a journey, and defining a transparent approach with all the required team members and stakeholders. The result was a huge improvement to the team's confidence in being able to move forward without struggle and the old obstacles.

design system template
This would kickstart and enable the team to create a consistent and powerful system.
shared content space

For an efficient workflow and increased transparency across teams and functions.
The Alias team could share not only all research insights but also crucial production news and development plans.
